About Perseids
Our Story
Every August, the Perseid meteors streak across the Egyptian night — a shower of light that has inspired stargazers for thousands of years. We named our house after them. Founded in Cairo, Perseids is an Egyptian atelier that refuses to look like anyone else. Our materials, our artisans, and our techniques are born of this land — hand-dyed leathers, hand-stitched construction, silhouettes drawn from the geometry of Islamic art. But the intention behind every piece comes from the stars: to make something extraordinary. Something built different. The result is clothing that carries meaning — not just aesthetic.
Craft
Craftsmanship
From hand-stitched lapels to hand-dyed leathers, our pieces are made slowly and deliberately. We work with small family-run workshops in Cairo, Alexandria, and the Nile Delta — collaborators whose skills have been refined over decades. Each garment passes through multiple hands before reaching its final form. A single tailored jacket may require 40 hours of hand-finishing. A kaftan can take weeks of embroidery. This is not efficiency. This is intention.
Principles
Our Values
Principles that guide everything we make.
Origin
The Perseids are named for the meteors that fall from the constellation — born of the stars, raised on Egyptian soil. Our origin lives in both the sky and the land.
Craft
We refuse to compromise on making. Every seam, drape, and finish is considered. If it cannot be done well, we do not do it.
Modernity
Our origin is our foundation, not our limitation. We design for the way people live today — clean lines, thoughtful proportions, enduring silhouettes.
Sustainability
We produce in small quantities, source materials responsibly, and build pieces meant to last decades — not seasons.
